As a general rule a wig should be washed after 12-15 wearings during spring and summer and after 6-8 wearings in autumn and winter. Seasonal contributing conditions such as air quality and humidity factors all add to the frequency of washing required, just the same as with your own hair.

Always keep your own hair clean when wearing your wig to reduce washing frequency and to provide a comfortable base.

Before washing, brush all straight styles gently with a wire brush. Brush Curly styles lightly with a vent brush. Brush all curly styles lightly with a vent brush or 'pick' keeping the curls intact as you go.

Add a cap full of Jacquelyn's Wig Shampoo to a basin of cool water (NEVER USE HOT WATER) Immerse the wig fully, dousing it gently. Leave to soak for two minutes. Rinse completely by swishing the wig around in clean cool water. Gently squeeze excess water from the wig. For high luster and supreme softness apply hair conditioner. Leave on for five minutes and rinse well in cool water. Gently squeeze out excess water.

For curly hairstyles, lightly finger squeeze curls whilst the wig is still wet.For all other styles, gently towel-blot the wig to remove any excess wetness. Then place the wig on a clean dry towel and allow the air to circulate naturally for a perfect dry. DO NOT COMB OR BRUSH THE WIG UNLESS YOU ARE COMPLETELY RESTYLING IT. ALSO DO NOT DRY IN DIRECT SUNLIGHT. After the wig is fully dry, shake out and style.

ALWAYS place your wig back on a wig stand when not in use.
