How to Prevent African American Wigs from Tangling

Dec 24, 2014

You may be excited to wear the African American wigs, but after two weeks or less your beautiful African American wigs will begin to tangle, which alarm you and crush your confidence. That will make you feel boring. You may want to invest more money in the best African American wigs. Actually, even the cheap African African wigs can look realistic and natural. Then, you ask yourself: "Why are my expensive African American wigs tangling?" Well there could be a number of reasons why your lace unit starts to tangle or matte.

Below are some tips to prevent your African American wigs from tangling or at the very least, keep the tangles to a minimum. I hope this guide helps you maintain beautiful healthy & smooth, tangle-free hair.

1. Spray your wig with a detangling conditioner before washing it. Begin at the bottom of the wig, using a wide-tooth comb, and work your way upward. Take your time; do not hurry through this progress or you risk ruining the look of the wig.

2. Wash the scalp, and wig, with a gentle shampoo. Do not rub it in. Instead, massage the scalp and let the suds run down over the wig. Rubbing the wig will make it look tangled. Rinse it thoroughly.

3. Apply a deep conditioner to the hair and length of the wig, starting at the bottom and working up. Do not rub it or even massage it. Adding this moisture to the wig is paramount to preventing it from tangling. Even with that moisture, however, rubbing it will tangle it up.

4. Dry the hair by dabbing it with a towel.

5. Spray liquid hair oil onto the wig. Start spraying at the bottom of it and continue up. Press it in with your fingers.

6. Sleep only on satin pillow cases. They protect the wig from tangling in comparison to other fabrics.
